Much to her dismay, Abby is my favorite model. She is so easy to take good pictures of and they always turn out! I think she is beautiful, both inside and out, completely. She is always (okay, not quite always) fun to be around and makes me laugh all the time. She is mature, smart and outgoing. She is very affectionate (sometimes a little too much, when she thinks she can sit on my lap and cuddle -- she is 4 inches taller than me!) I just had to post a few pictures of this girl that I LOVE!!!
Another ornament has been added to our tree as we continue to wait for our daughter from China. Our Christmas was a wonderful time spent with family in Medicine Hat. I really tried to focus on enjoying the season and yet it was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster this year, as we continue to wait... The list seems to be taking a very long time to come out this month and so it was hard not to think about when it would happen, how would it affect us with holidays and being away and would it even be our month anyway. But we are home now and the list still hasn't appeared and so we continue to wait...

There is only one word to explain our vacation to Atlantis.... Spectacular!!! The resort was amazing, there was detail in every square inch. The kids (and us too!) were kept busy on waterslides, swimming with dolphins, walking with sharks, snorkelling and just laying by the pool. The weather was amazing everyday.
We love being able to show our kids this world!
When we left the Bahamas on Friday it was +30 and when we arrived home in Edmonton it was -25!!! But that is okay... Christmas is just around the corner and our coming week is filled with concerts, gift exchanges and baking, what could be better?! Oh yes, maybe a referral....

Tonight we are off to the the Bahama's for a week long vacation! We will be taking the red eye to Toronto, then have a four hour layover before continuing on to Nassau. I am expecting we will all be exhausted and I have told the kids they HAVE to sleep on the plane and in the Toronto airport. They all travel really well, but I know there is a good chance they could lose it at some point... It will be worth it once we are there, sitting in the sunshine!

It is finally feeling like Christmas is coming to Edmonton. Today the snow finally started falling and my trees are up and the house is decorated. Yes, I do put up 2 trees! Last year we bought an ornament that reminded us of the daughter yet to come, and this year we will be adding yet another ornament to remind us that she is out there waiting to be matched with us! Hopefully, next Christmas she will be here to celebrate Jesus' birth with her new family.
I have one tree that is in our family room that has colored lights and all of our meaningful family decorations. I grew up with a tree like this and really didn't want to give it up, as to me, Christmas is all about color.
I also have a formal tree in our living room, the kids are not allowed to touch it. It is there just to look pretty and enjoy. Although, I did find a very large toy train sitting among the branches the other day!
