Travel Dates

"...let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of faith..." -- Hebrews 12:1

Today we received our first set of travel notes from our agency. We have been waiting anxiously for this information, as we knew that it would likely coincide with Tim's mission trip to Kunming. And it does. Tim will not be able to go on his medical mission this November and this is really hard for him... he was looking forward to seeing his patients again and meeting new ones. His collegues completely understand that for whatever reason, this is God's will. And Tim knows that he will have opportunities to go once or twice a year for years to come, but that we will only adopt Zoe once and he needs to be part of that first and foremost.

"Now faith is being sure of what is hoped for and certain of what we do not see." -- Hebrews 11:1

November 5 - leave for Beijing
November 7 (8th in China) - Beijing to Chengdu, Sichuan GET ZOE!!!
November 8 - Adoption Day
November 12 - Chengdu to Beijing (the Canadian Embassy is in Beijing)
November 13 - 14 - Excursions
November 15 - Submit paperwork to Canadian Embassy
November 15 - 17 - more excursions
November 18 - Receive child's documents from embassy and come home

It all feels so far away and yet I know it will go by quickly... wow... it really happening! We are coming to get you Zoe!

It's going to be a very exciting Christmas in your house!

Sorry to hear about Tim's trip, I can imagine he is disappointed, but the Lord has other ideas. Maybe little Zoe will need him more than you all realize - you just never know, but it is His will.

I can't wait to see this beauty in YOUR arms!!

You'll have her home in time for your birthday! That's a great gift if I've ever heard of one ;) Plus, you leave on my birthday, so that's a good sign - if I believed in signs. Tim will have lots of years to travel - I agree with Jill, maybe Zoe will really need her dad there when she gets home. Good to know you have the dates - one less thing to wonder about.

Can't wait to be a part of it all with you! I am already counting the sleeps until November 6!

I'm sorry that the timing does not work with Tim's mission trip. But I am glad that he will be able to continue with them in the future. Perhaps you could all go as a family one day and accompany him?

Such wonderful news!!! That's really so fast. Bummer about Tim's trip, but God must know there's a reason for Tim to be present and focused...maybe the horribly long plane ride.
I'm soooo looking forward to tagging along on your journey (by blog)!

Blessings,
Monica

It must feel good to finally have those dates! I look forward to following your blog while you're in China. I love your blog no matter the event but it's always extra special on the adoption trip.

That is so exciting! Too bad about Tim's trip...but we know there must be a reason, and if you're like me you would like to know why. Praying for peace for both of you!
