Lilah's Violin Recital

DSC_0003_2

Tonight, Lilah had her very first violin recital.

It was held at a local church and Lilah was third from last. It was slightly frustrating as everyone left as their kids finished their pieces, so there were very few people there by the time that Lilah played.

She did great and got some hoots and hollers from the crowd.

I'm sorry everyone left. From my recollection, that was not appropriate during my recital days. Either times have changed, or expectations were not clear. I hope it is the latter so that every child is celebrated and showcased equally next year.

Lilah you did great! I hope you will play for me again next time we visit you.

How sad that so many left. Lilah is amazing...oh the places she will go! I think God's rays of blessing will continue to shine down on your Lilah...and you too! Seeing her grow in so many ways blesses my heart...we really must meet face to face some day!

She did great! I can't believe everyone left after their child played! I can understand that some families might have had to leave, but as a general rule, it is still considered rude to leave before all the children have played. Although if this was her first recital, playing with less of a crowd might have been easier on her. I remember Kylar's first recital - I thought he was going to faint! lol

Lilah did a great job! :)
We find that parents leave dance recitals after their child has performed. I don't understand it either and find it rude. It is hard on the kids at the end who perform to empty seats. It shows (and teaches) a complete lack of respect for the arts in general. Too bad that we live in such a ME vs WE culture!
